I have “run” the 42km Nice to Cannes Marathon every year since it started in 2008. In recent years it has become less of an athletic challenge and more of a day out jog along the coast. A few years ago I started to take my GoPro camera along and made little slide shows. Last year I wrote an entire Photo Story about my times at the race and the highlights of the course. This year I decided to try make a video.
It was a bit of a rocky start talking to the camera but I think I eventually worked my way into it. Especially when things started to go wrong. At about 15km the camera was showing only 2 out of 4 bars for the battery. I didn’t think it was going to last the course. Then at 20km I had a hip problem and shortly afterwards had to walk a little. It sort of went downhill from there. You will see what I mean when you watch the video. The camera battery worked its way down to no bars but luckily kept on working.
My intent was to present some of the magnificent scenery of the course, along with the experience of doing a marathon. I hope you think I succeeded.
